This has been the heart behind my artwork for as long as I can remember. To see the good in life and to help others see the good, too by telling a story with my illustrations. From each cozy character to the smallest prop, every element has an opportunity to say something. It always comes back to story.

The creative practice isn’t simply a hobby; it’s a necessity, and it’s one I’m extremely passionate about. I believe it’s crucial for creatives to build a joyful and sustainable creative practice. For me, this means embracing both COZINESS and CURIOSITY. Learning to love both the beautiful and the messy parts of the practice, and exploring whatever mediums, themes, and subjects excite me! (Although gouache continues to be my most beloved medium.😉)

I believe that creativity is a gift; one that is meant to be used and cherished. My goal with every piece I make from gouache illustrations of the Meraki Meadow, to random sketchbook doodles, to sculpted miniature brownies is to glorify my own Creator. I aim to celebrate both the magical ideas He puts in my imagination as well as the mundane, everyday beauties of life in my art.

As I’ve built up and fallen in love with my own creative practice, I’ve found such a passion for helping other creatives fall in love with theirs! There are few things in this world that make me happier than seeing my students come to understand a new artistic concept or discover their love for creating their own illustrations. If you’re a curious creative like us, we’d love for you to join our creative community!

Although art is my primary passion, I love exploring the many other adventures life has to offer. When I’m not painting, I enjoy being out in nature, reading, baking delicious desserts (I’ve FINALLY perfected my snickerdoodle recipe!), and board games.
