This has been the motto of my artwork for as long as I can remember. To see the good in life and to help others see the good, too by telling a story with my illustrations.
By finding inspiration in all things cozy and nostalgic, I create whimsical illustrations that connect with the child in all of us. I take mundane things and make them magical. With a deep interest in character, background, and prop design, I love painting everything from jam jars, to foxes, to vintage typewriters, to potted plants! No theme is off-limits for me. My goal is to glorify my Creator by celebrating both the impossible/magical things we see in our imaginations, as well as the beauty of everyday life in my art.
I love to explore many different mediums in my creative practice. Balancing the depth of gouache with the elegance of watercolor, the playfulness of markers with the strength of inks, and even exploring the tangibility of clay! Creativity is all about exploring and creating in a way that brings us joy.
Although art is my primary passion, I love exploring the many other adventures life has to offer. When Iām not painting, I enjoy being out in nature, reading, trying delicious new dishes, and playing tabletop games. (Iām a bit of a beast in Settlers of Catan š).
